ASCU Supports Canadian Cancer Society

Advance Savings Credit Union recently made a donation of $2750 to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  Over the past month, the “ASCU’s Harley’s Heroes” team raised money through various activities including: a silent auction, a bake sale, a bowling competition, “Harley Jars” at teller wickets, and staff and corporate donations. 

“The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is an opportunity not only to raise money for cancer research, but also celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who have been lost to cancer, and fight back against this horrible disease,” said Jennifer Marr, Community Promotions Officer for Advance Savings, whose husband is currently battling terminal cancer.  “The Advance Savings staff members recognize the value of the Canadian Cancer Society and the work it does within our community so they were pleased to be able to contribute to this worthwhile cause.”

“I would like to commend Advance Savings Credit Union for their fundraising efforts to assist in the fight against cancer,” said Heather Logsdon; Coordinator, Special Events for the Canadian Cancer Society.  “Philanthropic minded organizations, such as Advanced Savings Credit Union, are essential to the success of the Canadian Cancer Society.  Thank you for your continued support.”
